About College Coffeehouse

The College Coffeehouse (CCH) is a comfortable, laid back venue that features a wide variety of entertainment in the Fairbanks area.  We are a non-smoking non-alcohol venue.  Most shows are suitable for all ages.

CCH caters mostly to local artists looking for a venue to introduce their talent or just to have a place to perform for fun.  We also provide a safe, fun environment for underage shows for local youth. 

We occasionally book professional entertainers but only on a limited basis.

We do not tolerate alcohol, drugs, aggressive behavior or events with excessive inappropriate and offensive language.

Our venue will comfortably seat 45 at tables but can be expanded to 70 with row style seating with a maximum occupancy of 80.

Sound System

We are equipped with an 8 channel Peavey system, including two 15 inch main speakers and one monitor. We also have several microphones, mic stands and cords.

Booking guidelines

All genres are welcome including other performances such as dance, poetry readings, art showings, book readings, comedy, and fund raisers.

We are open to book events 7 nights a week although some nights are reserved for regularly occurring events.  We occasionally book shows on Saturday and Sunday days. 

Evening shows usually start between 7 pm and 8 pm.  All shows should start as close to booked times as possible.  Evening shows must be over by 11:15 pm unless otherwise agreed on.

Booking an Event

• Mail your request to College Coffeehouse, 3677 College Rd. Ste 4, Fairbanks, AK. 99709. OR
• Drop off your request at the Coffeeshop.  OR
• The preferred method is to email your request to Collegecoffee@gci.net.
• Provide the following information with the request.
  • A description of the event.
  • Dates you would like to book.
  • Proposed start and end time for the event.
  • How you plan to promote your event.
  • What kind of draw you expect.
  • A phone and email contact for the event organizer.
  • Is the event free or would you like to request a cover charge? (List the proposed cover). Please note: All approved events may not be approved for a cover charge.
• To see what dates are available, go to our web site under entertainment.  We usually show the current and the following months bookings.
• You should hear back from us within a week.

Responsibilities of the event holder:

• Event holder is responsible for all promotions other than those listed for CCH. (We can provide you with a media list upon request)
• Set up and take down of all equipment.  This includes leaving the in-house sound system as you found it.
• Managing door collections if the event has a cover charge. (CCH  can provide a door person upon request for a $10/hr fee)
• Send any digital photos or web link to be posted on the CCH web site (optional).

Responsibilities of College Coffeehouse:

• CCH will post your event on the in-house calendar as well as our web calendar.
• CCH will post your poster at the Coffeeshop.
• All entertainers performing in the scheduled event can have free drinks during the event. (Not valid for jam sessions, open mic nights, fundraiser events and poetry reading).

Compensation

CCH does not compensate or provide a guarantee for any events unless otherwise negotiated.  You are welcome to play for donations or sell your CDs at any time during the event.

Covered events

CCH does not book more than one covered event per week.

We ask that if you request a covered event, you are confident you can draw at least 30 people who are willing to pay the cover.

The event organizer is responsible for collecting the cover charge.  We can provide a door person upon request for a $10/hr fee

The event will receive 100% of the cover.

Events charging a cover must limit the door collection to 1 1/2 hours after the show starts.

We have an open door policy for all covered events.  This means that customers can purchase takeout during the event without paying a cover charge as long as they leave immediately after the purchase or remain in the computer room during the event.  Please make sure your door person is aware of this policy.
